The opportunity

The Imaginarium bridges two hot topics:

1. Imagination is the most under-used yet most critically-needed competency today to see beyond the immediate and to innovate in a world of constant, systemic and interconnected crises. Beyond helping us prepare for the next crisis or achieve the SDGs, the growing global emphasis on “futures literacy” is about harnessing the imagination to enable us to face uncertainty with confidence and improve our ability to respond to change.

2. Across the world, new and innovative cultural spaces like Fotografiska (Stockholm, New York, Berlin, Tallinn, Shanghai), Team Lab (Tokyo) or Meow Wolf (Santa Fé, Denver) demonstrate that the “experience economy” is adapting to the changing habits and aspirations of audiences who are seeking more immersive and integrated experiences than what traditional educational institutions and museums offer.
